The Human Resources Association of New Brunswick’s conference organizing committee is accepting proposals for local and national presentations appropriate to a broad spectrum of participants interested in and involved with human resources.

Before you begin a new submission, collect all the required information as described below. Please read this information to ensure a successful presentation submission. When you are ready, click the button marked "Proceed" at the bottom of this page.

We suggest that you first develop your proposed abstract in a word processing program such as Microsoft Word or WordPerfect, and then copy and paste information in the appropriate sections.

Complete required fields in all sections. Incomplete submissions may not be accepted.

If you would like to submit more than one presentation for consideration please submit a separate form for each presentation.

The Committee's decision is final. Session attendance is voluntary and is influenced by the needs and interests of the participants.

General Guidelines

  1. To be considered, presentations must be submitted electronically via the form on the following page.

  2. Submission deadline is 5:00 pm Atlantic Standard Time, Friday, February 26, 2010.

  3. Speakers should provide an electronic copy of their presentation to the conference secretariat in advance of the conference.

  4. Presentations are 70 minutes in length (at a minimum presenters must allow for 10 minutes of Q & A within this 70 minutes).

  5. If your presentation is accepted, you will receive a one-day complimentary registration for the day you are presenting, which will allow you access to all presentations during the day you present excluding the ACHRA Awards and Dinner. Should you wish to attend the entire Conference, you can purchase the appropriate one-day package as desired. All presenters are responsible for registering for the conference in advance.

  6. By submitting a presentation proposal, it is understood that the presenter(s) agree(s) to present and to participate as proposed, if accepted.  The conference registration fee and all other expenses incurred to attend are the responsibility of the presenter(s).

  7. Write an accurate program description, as you want it to appear in the final program.  One of the biggest disappointments is attending a session that is not what you thought it was going to be.  The Program Committee reserves the right to edit abstracts.

  8. Organizers encourage the submission of presentation proposals in either official language.  Sessions can be offered in French or English.

  9. Presenters may copy their handouts/presentations for distribution to session participants but we encourage electronic sharing of all presentations and will post presentations on the conference website after the event, pending permission from the presenter(s).

  10. By submitting a presentation proposal, it is understood that the presenter(s) agree to be part of an evaluation process that asks conference participants to evaluate each session they attend.

Preparing Your Presentation

  1. Your presentation must include the following: title of the session, name(s) of presenter(s), and presenter(s) organization/affiliation.

  2. Type presentations single-spaced.
  3. The body of the presentation should be typed as one paragraph and should not exceed 250 words.

  4. In addition to the 250-word presentation overview, a 75 word summary of your presentation must be included. Should your presentation be accepted, this summary will be used in the final program to promote your session.

  5. Your presentation should provide background information, objectives, key findings and conclusions. As well as tips, tools and templates that the participants can begin to use immediately

Submitting Your Abstract

Presentations submitted will be formatted for printing. Typographic and grammatical errors that appear in the submitted presentation will be edited for the final program.

Acceptance

It is anticipated that all presenters will be notified of their presentation acceptance by the week of March 29, 2010.  If for unforeseen reasons, a presentation must be cancelled, the presenter should contact the Conference Secretariat, Agenda Managers.
